This job involves helping students in advanced manufacturing and nursing programs at a community college stay on track to complete their studies and enter the workforce, through counseling, workshops, and support services.
It's a temporary role funded by a federal grant until February 2027, aimed at removing obstacles like financial issues to boost student success.
A good fit would be someone passionate about education and career guidance, with experience supporting young adults or first-generation college students in academic settings.
Engage with project faculty and student participants to remove barriers, including emergency financial support, to encourage retention and completion.
Follow-up with students, faculty, and academic service providers to ensure that appropriate student academic and support services are provided to participants.
Provide intervention services as needed to ensure academic success.
Certify in the project’s database that students meet the criteria to be counted as a DOL project participant.
Document each DOL student’s progression in the pathways in the project's database, including entry and exit points, services received, industry and college credentials completed, and services received.
