The King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a RESJ Project/Program Manager III. Centering race, equity, and social justice is fundamental to our mission and drives our commitment to being a catalyst for meaningful, systemic change.

The RESJ Project/Program Manager III will be responsible for implementation and management of the PAO’s 2026 RESJ ecosystem projects, ensuring that RESJ principles are embedded into organizational practices.

Work Location: In-person/telecommuting- This position will work out of the King County Courthouse and the Maleng Regional Justice Center (MRJC) as needed.Work Schedule: This position works a 40-hour work week schedule, normally Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position is not eligible for King County’s benefits package. Employees assigned to this position enjoy a hybrid work schedule that allows telecommuting, with a minimum of one day in office per week, subject to business needs and a telecommuting agreement. Salary:
Range 63 - $52.92 (step one) - $67.08 (step ten)

Requirements
- Responsible for implementing and managing RESJ projects throughout the office to accelerate progress and enable cultural effectiveness and organizational change.
- Develop a communication strategy that ensures the office is informed and empowered to make thoughtful and strategic decisions that are in support of the PAO’s RESJ goals.
- Evaluate and report the effectiveness of RESJ activities and their impact on both internally and externally, including their influence on workplace culture and community.
- Create and implement PAO’s RESJ related performance measures. Work to ensure metrics are understandable, meaningful and lead to accountability and desired outcomes. Review data to ensure anti-bias efforts are applied officewide.
- Provide consultation, coaching, and support PAO’s RESJ ecosystem to be innovative and adaptive in providing culturally responsive, inclusive, and equitable programs and/or services.
- Communicate new/updated programs, policies, and processes to RESJ Committee Co-Leads, Advisory Board and Leadership.
- Deliver training/education/workshops around RESJ and related subject matter for the PAO and coordinate with DHR trainers and Criminal Practice Training Coordinator to provide RESJ training for the PAO with CLE opportunity.
- Represent PAO’s strategy efforts at the department or county level, ensuring awareness, involvement, and contributions as appropriate. Participate in county-wide ERSJ team(s) and communities of practice to fulfill PAO’s RESJ strategic and operational goals.
- Develop and maintain processes and systems to increase accountability for the efficacy of RESJ approaches and initiatives.
- Collaborate with PAO’s RESJ Committee’s Co-Leads, Advisory Board and other applicable teams to build internal and external partnerships that help attract and amplify under-represented stakeholders’ perspectives.
- Review potential changes to RESJ efforts and implement as approved. Work with work units and human resources to ensure best practices are applied to various processes throughout the division.
- Active participation in PAO equity work, attending equity trainings and discussions, support for the PAO’s Race, Equity and Social Justice policy and principles, work with PAO colleagues and management to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Establish and maintain positive, collaborative, and equity-centered working relationships with leadership, community partners, and the public.
Qualifications
- Prior project and/or program management experience advancing equity, inclusion, and belonging in a multi-faceted organization is a plus.
- Extensive knowledge of current Race, Equity and Social Justice concepts and frameworks.
- Demonstrated commitment to Race, Equity and Social Justice by actively participating in PAO equity work including reducing barriers for marginalized communities.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize and clearly convey complex or technical information to non-technical audiences. A high level of attention to detail is essential.
- Highly organized with strong project and time management abilities, including developing short- and long-range project plans and managing multiple priorities.
- Skill in responding in a positive, mature, and helpful manner to various individuals inside and outside the organization
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with and respond in a positive, experienced and helpful manner with diverse individuals; analytical and critical thinking skills to make decisions and initiate action.
- Ability to perform a variety of tasks that require the exercise of initiative and independent judgment and the ability to anticipate needs and appropriately respond
- Ability to problem-solve and identify needed procedural and policy changes.
- Skill in using computers and the ability to become proficient in the use of database programs such as Case Management Systems (e.g., PbK with training), MS Word, Excel, SharePoint and Adobe Pro.
- Consistent and reliable/predictable attendance.
- Ability to navigate conflict constructively and use effective conflict-resolution skills.
