Full Job Description

This is a non-merit, temporary position. Positions in this class are exempt from the screening and referral requirements of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise.


The Iowa Veterans Home is looking for temporary Resident Aide for the Medical Clinic.
Scheduled hours will vary between 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m..
Days worked will be based on need.
Hourly wage will be $12.76-$17.97

Duties include but not limited to:
- Assist residents to attend appointments in the Medical Clinic and Rehab Services.
- Follows all established procedures for safe resident escorting including proper position in wheelchairs, use of safety devices, and mode of transportation.
- Assist with coordination of escorting schedule to accommodate unit/resident needs. Helps with notification of unit when appts are ahead/behind schedule to help maintain the flow of appts.
- Monitor equipment and supplies used and enter supply orders to maintain par levels as needed. Will follow cleaning and disinfecting protocols as specified in policy/procedures.
