Major Duties:

  • Advise prospective investigators on technical (and other regulatory criteria) and procedural requirements for protocol development.
  • Answer inquiries from prospective investigators and provides detailed briefings and guidance on preparing studies in proper format, with particular emphasis on updates of requirements for research execution feasibility.
  • Determine if protocols are ready for scientific review committee (SRC) or institutional animal care and use committee (IACUC) review.
  • Maintain institutional records and research protocol database.
  • Coordinate committee meetings and informs committee members of pertinent information such as changes in regulations or policies.
  • Maintain reference library of the latest regulations and policies pertaining to research execution pertinent to the investigative program and human and animal research.
