Summary

This job involves working on the development and acquisition of specialized equipment for special operations forces, such as weapons, night vision gear, and medical support systems, to ensure soldiers have what they need for missions.

Specialized experience: One year of specialized which includes experience in Deep knowledge in special operations equipment, including explosive/non-explosive breaching, various weapons systems, night vision, C4I, soldier systems and medical life support .

Experience writing and directing the establishment of critical documents such as Capabilities Development Documents (CDD) and Initial Capabilities Documents (ICD).

Proficiency with the Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution System (PPBES) and the Requirements Generation System (RGS).

Leading Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and acting as a technical representative to senior leadership and external agencies (DoD, USSOCOM, private industry).

Managing a diverse team, including military officers, Federal civilians, and contractors, including performance rating and workload assignment.

Develop programmatic requirements and recommend resourcing solutions to current and future transformation issues impacting the command; Oral and written communication to provide recommendations and solutions to higher leadership.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-12.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Leadership Planning and Evaluating Program Management Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).

Major Duties:

  • Perform staff administrative, evaluative, and coordination of work in the requirements and acquisition processes to acquire war fighter operational equipment.
  • Coordinate the assessment of requirements, documentation of validated capabilities, operational performance criteria, and capability needs required to execute war fighter missions; identify shortfalls in systems and to develop optimal capabilities.
  • Manage commodity area representatives within Combat Development Directorate (CDD) to create material capabilities documents in support of requirements and the rapid acquisition process.
  • Serve as SME at IPTs concerning all applicable Federal Acquisition Regulations, Dept of the Army and USSOCOM acquisition policies and regulations, operational applicability and impact of developmental projects, programs, and evaluations.
  • Advise the command on Department of Defense, USSOCOM, and Joint Command required capabilities issues.
