You will be required to attend a six-week training program at the Pittsburgh Regional Headquarters. Depending on travel distance required for training, overnight lodging may be provided.
Following the six-week training period, you will primarily work from your home location and travel to assigned work location.
The majority of this position will be field work in, but not limited to, Allegheny County and surrounding counties.
Additionally, you will report to the regional office in Pittsburgh based on operational needs.

In this highly rewarding position, you will have the opportunity to help our team ensure public health and safety through field inspection work to determine compliance with laws, rules, and regulations regarding professional and occupational licensing and other areas under the jurisdiction of the Secretary of the Commonwealth.
Your primary focus in this role will be the physical inspection of barber shops, cosmetology salons, real estate offices, and vehicle dealerships.
Inspectors issue citations when appropriate violations are found and provide limited investigative support activities when needed.
This position involves travelling to various sites in a geographic area of the state to conduct periodic inspections of all affected professions and occupations, by observation and interviews, noting any deviation from established standards, and preparing reports to communicate findings.
