Job Description
Summary
This job involves providing hands-on nursing care to veterans in a state home, including giving medications, performing treatments, assessing residents' health needs, and planning their long-term care.
It also includes supervising licensed practical nurses and caregivers to ensure quality support.
A good fit would be a licensed registered nurse who enjoys working with older adults or veterans and thrives in a team-oriented environment.
Key Requirements
- Possession of a diploma, associate's, bachelor's, or master's degree in nursing accepted for licensure by the Michigan Board of Nursing
- Valid Michigan license in good standing as a registered nurse
- Ability to provide direct patient care, including medication administration and treatments
- Skills in conducting comprehensive health assessments and coordinating long-term care plans
- Experience or ability to monitor and direct LPNs and caregivers in delegated nursing tasks
- Willingness to undergo random drug and alcohol testing as a test-designated position
