Job Description
Summary
This job involves providing hands-on nursing care to veterans in a state-run home, including giving medications, performing treatments, assessing residents' health needs, and planning their ongoing care.
It also includes supervising licensed practical nurses and caregivers to ensure quality support.
A good fit would be a licensed registered nurse who enjoys working in a team-oriented environment focused on long-term care for elderly or disabled veterans.
Key Requirements
- Possession of a diploma, associate's, bachelor's, or master's degree in nursing accepted for licensure by the Michigan Board of Nursing
- Valid Michigan license in good standing as a registered nurse
- Ability to provide direct patient care, including medication administration and treatments
- Skills in conducting comprehensive health assessments and coordinating long-term care plans
- Experience or ability to monitor and direct LPNs and caregivers in delegated nursing tasks
- Willingness to work in a 24-hour facility with varying shifts
- Subject to random drug testing as a test-designated position

Responsible for the direct care of members on one or more nursing units, including medication pass and treatments. Conducts comprehensive assessments of members needs and coordinates the long-term planning of care for a specific member case load. Monitors and directs LPNs and care givers in providing delegated nursing activities as needed.
**This position is Test-Designated and will be subject to random drug testing**
