This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Performance Improvement, 220 Faison Drive, Columbia SC 29203.

As the Registered Nurse, Institutional, you will serve as the Performance Improvement Liaison to assigned Inpatient Services hospitals/programs (BPH Civil, C&A, Forensics, Morris Village) with an emphasis on Medical Staff Performance Improvement.

Responsibilities for the Registered Nurse, Institutional include:
  • Collaborate with Medical Directors and Medical Staff in coordinating and executing the Medical Staff PI Plan.
  • Coordinate the medical staff peer review process.
  • Develop and implement audit tools and processes for data analysis.
  • Ensure medical staff PI/peer review process (es) maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, law, surveying body's standards and regulations, and Inpatient Services policies/procedure directives.
  • Assist medical staff with preparation for accreditation/regulatory surveys.
  • Maintain compliance with mandatory training.
  • Supervise the medical staff credentialing/privileging process.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and related experience.
  • Licensed as required by SC Board of Nursing.
Additional Requirements:
  • Must be able to travel among sites of inpatient services.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
