Full Job Description

Are you a natural leader looking for a way to apply that skill to a worthy program? This Health Program Coordinator position with the Utah Department of Health may be just what you are looking for. This position will lead the Women, Infants & Children (WIC) Program through oversight, coordination and evaluation of all of the Utah WIC Program functions including the federal regulations and state policies and procedures that must be implemented. This will include functions related to service delivery, staff development/training, and coordination of projects and activities.

Requirements

• Coordinating the WIC program activities, services and resources
• Monitoring and evaluation of WIC operations
• Ensuring compliance with federal regulations, policies and procedures
• Conducting evaluations
• Developing policies and procedures
• Testing and recommending computer functions
• Lead the nutrition education and training committees

Qualifications

Required:

• Registered as a Dietitian
• Licensed to practice in the State of Utah within 60-90 days
• Effective communication skills
• Organizational skills
• An ability to facilitate small group projects
• Coordination skills

Preferred:

• Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc..
• Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
• Occasional in state, out of state, overnight and weekend travel may be required.
• Be aware that salary ranges specified reflect a minimum starting and top of range dollar amount. Actual rate per hour will be determined by evaluation of qualifications and skills of the individual and the availability of monies through budget and grants or by following DHRM rule.
