About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Moose Run Golf Course on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, AK.

This position is Flexible, meaning you are guaranteed a minimum of 0 hours per week to a maximum of 40 hours per week. Your schedule will depend on needs of the facility.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: High school education or equivalent and one (1) year of full-time golf event programming with three (3) years preferred.

Good understanding and working knowledge of the rules of golf. Knowledge, methods, and experience in managing golf tournaments.

Knowledge of computer software including, but not limited to: word processing, spreadsheets, and golf specific programs. Experienced at managing and coordinating all aspects of golf tournaments.

Must be able to speak, read, and write English. Must possess skill in dealing with the public. Major Duties:

The Tournament Coordinator will assist the Lead Tournament Coordinator with tournament operations including, but not limited to: league play, in-house events, outside tournaments, and special events.

Will assist in rules and regulations development and enforcement, course set-up, will provide tournament pairings, rules, regulations, scoring sheets, scorecards, and cart placards.

Will assist with prize and award acquisitions and presentations, preparing tournament agreements and collecting deposits, conduct customer satisfaction surveys for past event contacts, and maintain tournament agreement folders.

Works with golf course superintendents to ensure that the golf course is in tournament-ready condition. Works with Food and Beverage Manager on food related needs and issues.

Oversees on-site set up of tournament facility and golf course prior to event start. Approves locations of facilities, on-site signage, and assists in set up of the same.

Oversees operations of assigned events. Responsible for coordinating "team" meetings to prepare for the schedule of events and activities related to each specific event.

Responsible for obtaining payment for tournaments and entering into the Point-of-Sale system (Club Prophet).

Will assist the Lead Tournament Coordinator with creating and maintaining tournament task checklists and order of operations. May assist at golf shop counter when needed.

May open or close facility on event days. Performs other related duties as assigned.
