This job involves working as a camp counselor to lead fun activities like arts, crafts, sports, and games for kids and teens aged 5 to 14 during the summer at parks and schools in Sunnyvale.
You'll supervise participants, ensure their safety, handle equipment, and communicate with parents and staff in an energetic outdoor setting.
It's a great fit for energetic young people aged 16 or older who enjoy working with children and have some experience in youth programs.
CAMP COUNSELOR I/II

Camp Counselor I Salary: $19.50 to $20.78 Hourly
Camp Counselor II Salary: $19.00 to $21.70 Hourly
Hours: Casual non-benefited employees are limited to working no more than twenty-five (25) hours per week and no more than 900 hours in a fiscal year (July 1-June 30).
Seasonal non-benefited employees are limited to working no more than six (6) consecutive months and no more than 900 hours in a fiscal year (July 1-June 30).
THE POSITION
The City of Sunnyvale is seeking self-motivated, energetic, responsible individuals interested in summer employment to assist with recreation programs serving youth and teens from 5 to 14 years old.
The summer recreation programs are held at various parks and schools throughout the City of Sunnyvale.
The summer camp program runs June 15 through Aug. 7, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Mandatory Camp Staff Training runs Monday, June 8 – Friday, June 12.

SELECTION PROCESS:
Applications will be competitively screened based on the minimum qualifications of this position.
