BAYLANDS PARK GATE HOUSE ATTENDANT
(Job Code: 9325-Recreation Assistant)
Hours: Casual non-benefited employees are limited to working no more than twenty-five (25) hours per week and no more than 900 hours in a fiscal year (July 1-June 30). Seasonal non-benefited employees are limited to working no more than six (6) consecutive months and no more than 900 hours in a fiscal year (July 1 to June 30).The City of Sunnyvale is seeking self-motivated, energetic, responsible individuals interested in part time employment to provide temporary administrative/cash handling support at Baylands Park Gatehouse. This position is required to work 8 hour shifts on weekdays or weekends.
Requirements
(May include, but are not limited to, the following):
- Collect vehicle entry fee at Baylands Gatehouse
- Sell, log and distribute Season Passes
- Perform general housekeeping inside gatehouse
- Reconcile and prepare deposits at end of each day
- General customer service
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
WORKING CONDITIONSPosition requires regular sitting, standing, walking, reaching, kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping in the performance of activities. The position also requires grasping, repetitive hand movement and fine coordination. Additionally, the position requires near and far vision in reading reports and work-related documents and using a computer. Acute hearing is required when providing personal customer service. The need to lift, drag and push, pull objects weighing up to 10 pounds is also required. Some of these requirements may be accommodated for otherwise qualified individuals requiring and requesting such accommodation.
Qualifications
- Minimum age is 18 years old
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Licenses/Certifications: Possession and continued maintenance of a valid class C CA driver's license and a safe driving record OR the ability to supply alternate transportation as approved by the appointing authority.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS- Prior cash handling and customer service experience desired
