About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Outdoor Recreation Marina. Who May Apply: Open to everyone.

An applicant's eligibility will be determined based on eligibility claimed in the questionnaire and proof of eligibility MUST be provided with application by the closing date, 03/13/2026 Business Based Action, Military Spouse Preference, Outside Applicant Veteran, Spouse/Widow/Parent of Veteran, and Transition Hiring Preference In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Have experience in outdoor recreation activities with a focus on at least one specialty area (i.e., Kayaking, backpacking, etc).

Have training and certification in relevant areas of expertise. Strong customer service and communication skills. Physical ability to participate in a variety of outdoor recreation activities.

Willingness to complete on-the-job training and maintain certification in relevant areas of expertise.

Satisfactorily complete a physical pre-employment and be able to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Have a clean driving record.

Must be able to communicate effectively in English both, orally and in writing. Certification in CPR & First Aid highly desired. Knowledge of local area attractions is highly desirable.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Major Duties:

Plans, organizes, and leads Outdoor Activity Programming (OAP), instructional classes, trips and outings, outdoor adventure activities, and special events to the Tyndall Air Force Base Community in a safe and enjoyable manner.

Develop and implement outdoor programs in specialized areas of outdoor recreation, such as Kayaking, Horseback Riding, Sky Diving, backpacking and more.

Coordinate with the Outdoor Recreation Manager and/or Assistant Manager or Designated to plan and schedule activities and events, taking into consideration factors such as customer demands, available resources, and weather conditions.

Ensure that all necessary equipment is available and in good working order for activities and events.

Conduct inspections of equipment and report any issues to the Outdoor Recreation Director or Designate.

Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, providing clear instructions, answering questions, and addressing concerns.

Maintain accurate records of activities and events, including attendance, equipment usage, and incident reports.

Collaborate with the Outdoor Recreation Director and/or Assistant Director to develop and deliver on-the-job training for new employees or volunteers, as needed.

Adhere to all safety protocols, regulations, and standards related to outdoor recreation activities. Maintain a professional appearance at all times.

Support the overall mission and goals of the Air Force Outdoor Recreation program by participating in staff meetings, attending training sessions, and contributing to a positive and productive work environment.

May be required to work uncommon tour of duty to include days, nights, weekends, holidays, and family days. May operate a government vehicle on or off the military installation.

Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
