This job is for a lead recreation assistant at a family resort on an Air Force base, where you'll step in for the manager to oversee daily operations, guide staff, handle customer reservations and payments, and organize events when needed.

About the position: This position will be assigned to the 92 Force Support Squadron, Clear Lake Resort, Fairchild AFB, WA.
In the absence of the Clear Lake Manager, reports the status, and progress of daily operations at the Clear Lake Resort.
Responsible for relaying instructions to Clear Lake Resort Recreation Aids from manager.
This is a Temporary and Flexible (Intermittent) position; not to exceed September 30, 2026 guaranteed 0-40 hours per week; depending on the needs of the facility. Who May Apply: Open to everyone.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience: Experience demonstrating a working familiarity with the rules and procedures in a recreation program activity which has involved recreation work in the area of specialty in which this position is assigned; Experience in a family recreational resort setting is desirable.
Must have the ability to safeguard and handle cash. Must possess skill in dealing with the public. Must have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Major Duties:
In the absence of the Clear Lake Manager, reports the status, and progress of daily operations at the Clear Lake Resort.
Responsible for relaying instructions to Clear Lake Resort Recreation Aids from manager. Assists manager with maintaining inventory stock levels, adjustments, accountability and receipt control.
Ensures point of sale system program is operating effectively by troubleshooting, correcting error conditions and keeping vital records. Operates and verifies electronic resort reservations.
Under the supervision of the manager, plans and conducts recurring special events or programs at resort.
In the absence of the manager, urges or advises other employees to follow instructions received from supervisor and to ensure compliance of all resort security, safety, housekeeping rules policies and procedures.
May be required to train subordinate personnel and demonstrate proper work methods. Elevates unresolved employee complaints to manager. Reports the status of progress of work and causes of delays.
Checks work while in progress and when finished ensures that the supervisors instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines have been met.
Reports all repair and maintenance requirements according to established policies. Reports all violations of safety to manager.
Other duties may include but not limited to, perform set-up for scheduled activities, notify customers of scheduled program changes, record attendance, take reservations and payments, ensures proper equipment or tools are on hand.
Perform customer equipment check in/out. Incumbent is provided instructions when performing new or procedurally complex duties.
Supervisor is available to deal with unusual situations which may occur and to provide necessary guidance and instructions. Routine work is performed independently.
The supervisor checks the work to ensure compliance with procedures and directives.
