About the position: This position will be assigned to Outdoor Creation located on Peterson Space Force Base. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment drug test.
Must be able to lift items weighing 40 pounds or more. This position may require shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Who May Apply: Open to everyone.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience: Practical knowledge of recreational activities, rules, and procedures is required. First Aid, CPR and W FR higher certification is required.
Must have a valid driver's license and must be able to obtain a Government Driver's License.
Must have one or more of the following: successful completion of "Summit" Single-Pitch course or similar SPI-Type class, ACA or Rescue 3Swiftwater/Whitewater Rescue Technician (SWRT), State of Colorado/AHRA Whitewater Rafting Guide and Trip Leader (TL), and/or AIARE Level 1 Avalanche Certification.
Major Duties:
Duties and Responsibilities: Leads safe and efficient programs; the incumbent of this position instructs groups and individuals in daily and overnight outdoor recreation programs.
Uses a variety of teaching skills to communicate to customers who are of a wide range of ages and experience levels the information needed to safely participate in outdoor recreation activities.
Ensures that all phases of instruction are given in accordance with the student abilities. Carries out guide duties to include but not limited to rafting and other outdoor recreation programs.
Provides resources, first aid, and evacuation procedures for customers and other staff when necessary. Enforces safety rules and safe procedures at all times.
Drives vehicles and shuttles for the purpose of transporting gear and customers to designated program activities. Ensures equipment and vehicles are maintained, fueled, and stored as necessary.
