This position is assigned to Non-Appropriated Fund Fitness, Sports, Fleet Readiness; Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC); Naval Air Station JRB, Fort Worth.
The incumbent will be responsible for instructing Group Exercise classes, assisting in Command PT sessions, monitoring patron safety and assisting the Fitness Coordinator.

Qualifying experience must have been equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Knowledge of MWR policies, rules, and regulations involving the work area.
Knowledge of basic arithmetic to compute charges, disperse change accurately, and prepare reports. Knowledge of cash handling procedures. Knowledge of basic fitness, aquatics and sports principles.
Knowledge of safe use and operation of fitness equipment, facility operations, and basic fitness equipment maintenance/repair.
Skill in the use of Microsoft Office Programs (e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) and others as they relate to fitness, sports and aquatics programming.
Skill and ability to provide fitness, aquatics and sports training or orientation. Ability to competently and independently carry out day to day recreation operations.
Ability to develop and effectively deliver presentations and/or training. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience.
You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

Major Duties:
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES Incumbent plans, designs, and instructs a variety of group fitness classes for small or large groups.
Participates in brainstorming sessions to develop programs, events and classes for a well-rounded physical fitness program. Keep up to date on the latest fitness trends, and developments.
Answers questions regarding programs offered through the Fitness Center and/or other MWR facilities / services available to the customer.
Continuously evaluates the participation and interest level of fitness classes and programs from the standpoint of participant responses, resources, unforeseen developments, and program objectives.
Recommends program changes and variations as necessary to the Fitness Coordinator. Ensures cleanliness of exercise spaces and equipment and reports general wear and tear or collateral equipment.
GUIDELINES Guidelines include DOD manuals, directives, OPNAV instructions pertaining to physical readiness standards and Standard Operating Procedures.
Incumbent will ensure that the Fitness Center operations comply with all OSHA, BUMED, DOD, BUPERS and local safety guidelines.
SCOPE AND EFFECT The purpose is to promote maximum participation and interest in group fitness activities.
PERSONAL CONTACTS The incumbent will interface with all patrons, including active-duty and retired military members, their dependents and authorized DOD civilian personnel as well as other departmental employees.
PURPOSE OF CONTACTS Contacts are for the purpose of educating and motivating current and potential patrons.
The incumbent must be able to exercise good judgement and display a sound personal character and cooperative demeanor in serving the military community.
PHYISCAL DEMANDS This position requires a high level of physical fitness and may instruct numerous fitness classes per day.
WORK ENVIRONMENT Work is performed in a Fitness Center setting requiring safety precautions to avoid muscle strain or other bodily injury. Indoor work area is well lighted and properly ventilated.
