Job Description

Summary

This job involves managing a fitness center for the Marine Corps community, including opening and closing the facility, greeting guests, maintaining equipment, and helping organize recreational activities to keep everyone active and engaged.

It's a hands-on role that supports the well-being of military families through customer service and basic upkeep.

Key Requirements

  • Ability to demonstrate activities and use fitness facility equipment
  • Skill to learn and apply MCCS policies and procedures
  • Obtain CPR and First Aid certification within 6 months of hire
  • Pass National Agency Check with Inquiries (CNACI) and State Criminal History Repository Check if working with children
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 45 lbs independently (over 45 lbs with assistance)

Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team!

MCCS is a comprehensive program that supports and enhances the quality of life for Marines, their families, and others in the Marine Corps Community.

We offer a team oriented environment comprised of military personnel, civilian employees, contractors and volunteers who keep the organization functioning smoothly and effectively.

What are we looking for? Minimum two-year experience in customer service, preferably in a related recreational activity. Skill to demonstrate activities and use of related facility equipment.

Skill to learn applicable MCCS policies and procedures. Ability to acquire CPR and First Aid certification within 6 months of employment is required.

May be required to obtain and maintain a National Agency Check with Inquiries and State Criminal History Repository Check (CNACI) background checks which are required for positions that involve working with children under 18 years of age.

Major Duties:

What to Expect Responsible for a variety of duties to include opening and closing the facility, maintaining and cleaning the facility, grounds, and equipment, and ensuring all guests are properly greeted and checked in.

Carries out assigned phases of designated activity applying an understanding of the interest and needs of program participants.

Helps to plan and coordinate details of recreational activities and maintains related supplies. Assists in planning, scheduling and publicizing activities to attract and motivate participants.

Maintains routine reports and/or performs clerical, custodial and/or general maintenance duties. May operate a computer and cash register, receive payments and make change.

Performs other related duties as assigned. Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance.
