Job Description

Summary

This job involves operating and maintaining recreational facilities at a ski and snowboard area in Alaska, including preparing equipment for users, monitoring its safe use, handling rentals and fees, and keeping everything clean.

It's a hands-on role that supports outdoor activities for military personnel and families.

A good fit would be someone reliable with customer service experience, comfortable working outdoors in cold weather, and detail-oriented about safety and organization.

Key Requirements

  • Demonstrated work experience in recreation, facilities operation, or customer-facing roles
  • Ability to pre-check, prepare, and explain use of recreational equipment
  • Skills in monitoring equipment usage for safety and proper handling
  • Experience issuing and receiving equipment to authorized users
  • Proficiency in cleaning equipment, supplies, and facility areas
  • Capability to collect fees, account for monies, safeguard funds, and make bank deposits
  • Valid driver's license (must be retained)

This position is located at Birch Hill Ski and Snowboard Area. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Resumes must be two pages (or less).

A qualified candidate must possess the following: Demonstrated work experience that supports the ability to perform the duties described above. Must have and retain a valid driver's license.

Major Duties:

  • Job may require work in various facilities depending on requirements as determined by customer demand and programmed activities
  • Pre-checks and prepares equipment for customers, explains use, and monitors proper usage.
  • Issues/receives recreational equipment to authorized users.
  • Cleans recreation equipment, supplies, and facility area.
  • Collects applicable fees for items issued, accounts for monies collected safeguards funds and makes daily bank deposits.
