About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Starlifter Lanes Physical Effort: Must be physically able to lift and frequently stand and walk.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Experience in the receipts, disbursements, examinations, deposits or other processing of cash items when this includes direct handling of cash items, and use of cash accountability control methods.

Ability to communicate both orally and in writing and possess skill in dealing with the public. Prior experience in basic supply techniques is desirable.

Exercises courtesy, diplomacy and tact when dealing with co-workers, supervisors, and customers. Expected to have no more than two (2) valid complaints per rating cycle.

Adheres to cash handling procedures and properly documents cashier reports, with no more than five (5) minor errors allowed per ratings cycle (minor errors being overages/shortages less than $10).

Major errors will be evaluated based on their amount and seriousness. Provides accurate assistance to patrons in a courteous and professional manner.

Ensures that requested advice and assistance are handled in a manner judged timely for each situation. Resolve problems promptly with minimal adverse impact to the customer and to the operation.

Identifies problem areas and trends concerning patron participation, the lanes, the pins, time management system, and automatic scoring system.

Satisfactorily master the operation of Automatic Pinsetters, the Automatic Scoring System, the Time Management System, and Data Tracking Cash Register.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Major Duties:

The primary purpose of this position incumbent is responsible for manning the customer service desk within the bowling center.

Assigns lanes to be used, operates control console, rent shoes and sells items in the pro shop.

Conducts inventories of pro shop items may be required to inventory snack bar resale items, facility equipment and other supply items.

Demonstrates and instructs participants on the proper use of equipment and provides guidance and instruction on bowling techniques.

Informs supervisor of equipment malfunctions as well as other items needing maintenance or repair.

May supervise, lead, oversee and/or coordinate the daily activities of other employees engaged in the performance of their duties.

Assists in advertising and recruiting participants for leagues, tournaments, special events and open play activities.

May be required to schedule and administer these activities in the capacity of league secretary or tournament director.

Ensures activities are properly scheduled, facilities are set up and rules and regulations are observed. Opens and closes the bowling facility as required.
