A Recreation and Parks Specialist vacancy exists at the Oregon Ridge Park and Lodge.

Schedule: 18 - 26 hours per week, which may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Requirements

Job Purpose

Under close supervision, is responsible for daily operations as a shift lead at the Oregon Ridge Park and Lodge.

Essential Job Duties

• Oversee the use of facilities for rentals and events.
• Assist groups in planning and carrying out rentals and events.
• Maintain the facility in a safe and satisfactory condition.
• Serve as a shift lead for part-time and occasional staff.
• Update and maintain electronic and physical files and/or records.
• Organize, supervise, and instruct specialized programs for various age groups.
• Create and design flyers, booklets, advertisements, brochures, and/or reports.
• Meet with community groups and potential renters.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Experience and Qualifications
Possession of a high school diploma or an appropriate equivalent

Preferred Experience

• Specialization in customer service, special events, recreation, or nature programs preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Entry Level)

Possessing adequate skills and appreciation for the specialized program to create a well-rounded, diversified program

A practical understanding of the skill to be learned

Ability to work well with the age group involved

Knowledge of first aid

Must be able to pass a criminal background check

Proof of Degree Equivalency
