Full Job Description

This position is located at the Great Lakes Marina Lake Front, Recreation Division, Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department, Naval Station, Great Lakes, Illinois.

The purpose of this position is to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the Lake Front facilities.

A qualified candidate possess the following: Knowledge of Marina, Outdoor Recreation and Lake Front operations, rules and regulations to provide oversight over Lake Front patrons.

Knowledge gained by dealing with customers in a recreation setting. Knowledge of basic tools and outdoor equipment (mowers, clippers) to maintain the grounds in and around the Lake Front.

Valid driver's license to be able to operate motor vehicles and other miscellaneous equipment. Major Duties:

Ensures the efficient operation of the Beach House. Maintains registration logs and rental agreements of all guest, and answers questions pertaining to advance registrations.

May include some cash handling in certain situations.

Inspects Beach House, Camp Grounds, Picnic Areas, Archery Range, and Restroom facilities for cleanliness, and to prevent abuse of facilities, taking required actions to correct discrepancies.

Ensures all users of these facilities abide by rules and regulations. Performs routine maintenance and upkeep of facilities.

These duties include, but are not limited to, trash pickup, some lawn mowing, trimming, making signs, etc. Maintains surveillance throughout Lake Front area.

Ensures all facilities and security gates are locked. Reports any attempts of break ins or vandalism to base security.

The incumbent may tactfully deny admittance to anyone who has no business in or around facilities.
