About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Outdoor Recreation Center, Air Force Academy, Colorado. This position does not include benefits.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience: Applicant must have experience that has provided a general familiarity with the routines and procedures followed in group activities or programs.
This includes any type of simple clerical, supply, or other work in which the applicant has demonstrated alertness, reliability, and the ability to deal with adults or children.
Applicant must possess a valid state driver's license. Position requires lifting objects weighing over 40 pounds. A Tier 1 background investigation is required.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Major Duties:
Issues recreational and other equipment to customers. Provides instructions on safety and use of equipment. Checks returned equipment, charges for loss/damage as appropriate.
Assists with inventory of ski lift tickets, resale items and equipment. Assists in receiving/issuing program supplies and equipment using Rec Trac computer program.
Assists in minor maintenance, repair and cleaning of all recreational and other equipment assigned. Assist with setting up events and with customer reservation preparation.
Occasionally may require driving the ORC vehicles (Up to 1⁄2 ton vehicle). Assists customers in fitting and adjusting skis and boots. Performs other related duties as assigned.
This is a developmental position having known promotion potential to the NF-0189-II, Recreation Assistant (Outdoor Recreation) position.
Upon completion of 6 months experience as a Recreation Aid, the incumbent may be non-competitively promoted to the higher pay band.
