About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at the 31 Force Support Squadron, Outdoor Recreation Center, Pool, Aviano AB, Italy.

Intermittent - This is a seasonal Flexible position Not-to-Exceed (NTE) 12 Sep 2026.

Flexible employees are not guaranteed any hours but may be scheduled as many as 40 hours per week Performs and/or assists other recreation assistants or specialists in the operation and maintenance of indoor and/or outdoor recreational facilities.

An applicant's eligibility will be determined based on eligibility claimed in the questionnaire and proof of eligibility MUST be provided with application by the closing date, 04/14/2026 The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is US Citizens or NATO country citizens with a valid US permanent resident card and Social Security Number.In accordance with the Status of Forces agreement between Italy and the US, you must be at Aviano AB on orders and be a US citizen or citizen of a NATO country with a US permanent resident card.

Italian citizens may not apply for US NAF positions; however, may be eligible for local national positions on base. Must be able to provide documentation proving residence status overseas.

Legal US residents must possess a social security number and be citizens of a NATO country. The 31st Force Support Squadron is not currently providing logistical support.

Applicants must provide proper documentation indicating they are already a supported member of Aviano AB.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Practical knowledge of recreational activities, rules and procedures.

Ability to safeguard and handle cash and skill in the use and maintenance of various recreational equipment and facilities are desirable; however, no experience is required.

Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre employment physical. Must be able to life at least 40 pounds. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).

Major Duties:

Performs and/or assists other recreation assistants or specialists in the operation and maintenance of indoor and/or outdoor recreational facilities.

Types of duties include but are not limited to the following: Sets up recreation areas for scheduled activities; records attendance; takes reservations and payment for trips and tours; notifies participants of schedule changes; arranges for equipment or tools, charging them out to participants, and checking them for condition on their return; checks the established safety system of indoor and outdoor recreation facilities and areas, tools and equipment; posts announcements of scheduled activities and answers inquiries about item, place, transportation, or other matters related to activities scheduled; takes inventory of authorized recreation supplies and equipment; and helps with group activities which require more than one staff monitor, performing specifically assigned tasks.

Performs other related duties as assigned. Conditions of Employment: Scheduled tour of duty will require evenings, weekends and holiday work hours.
