Full Job Description

This position is located at Joint Base Lewis-McChord Aquatics Program. This is an open continuous announcement to provide a ready pool of available applicants as needed.

List will be issued at management request throughout the announcement timeframe. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Resumes must be two pages (or less).

Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position.

A qualified candidate must possess the following: Must be able to swim Must be able to participate in the lifeguard certifications.

NOTE: The above minimum qualifications must be described within the duties of previous work experience listed on the applicant's resume and assessment/questionnaire.

A copy of all supporting documents must be submitted at the time of application. Major Duties:

  • This is a training position for a certified Lifeguard. Works under close supervision wherein the work is closely reviewed/monitored and detailed guidance provided.
  • Must participate in all required training (emergency rescue drills, emergency action plan simulations).
  • Mandatory certifications must be completed within 30 calendar days of employment.
  • Upon completion of mandatory certifications, the incumbent will be non-competitively reassigned to Recreation Aid (Lifeguard), PD #3206, responsible for lifeguarding guests in attendance at an assigned aquatic facility.
