Job Description

Summary

This job is for a lifeguard at a military base's aquatics center and pool in Fort Bliss, Texas, where you'll monitor swimmers for safety, perform rescues if needed, and provide first aid or CPR.

Key Requirements

This position is located at Aquatics Training Center and Replica Pool.

Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position.

A qualified candidate must possess and maintain the following: Lifeguarding and First Aid (American Red Cross or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Star Guard, YMCA, or ELLIS).

American Red Cross "Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional. CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED or equivalent (American Heart Association CPR/AED).

First Aid For Water Parks upgrade the certification to: 'Waterpark Lifeguarding and First Aid; CPR/PR/AED' (American Red Cross).

In addition, for facilities that use Oxygen Administration "O2 bottles" the O2 Administration certification (American Red Cross "Oxygen Administration or installation offered training (i.e.

Fire Dept.) must be obtained within two weeks of reporting for duty.

NOTE: The above minimum qualifications must be described within the duties of previous work experience listed on the applicant's resume and/or supporting documents.

A copy of all documents must be submitted at the time of application. Major Duties:

  • Must be able to open/close and work weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business.
  • Must attend all training and in-service meetings and complete all annual trainings in a timely manner.
  • Must swim regularly and practice rescue skills and first aid/CPR.
  • Must consistently arrive for work on time and in proper uniform as required by Fort Bliss MWR.
  • Must be professional in demeanor and role model good customer service with patrons and personnel.
