About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Beale Pools, Beale AFB, CA. This is a temporary position, not to exceed November 1, 2026.

This position is flexible, no guaranteed hours and does not receive benefits. During announcement, applications will be pulled and reviewed for consideration every 1st and 15th of the month.

An applicant's eligibility will be determined based on eligibility claimed in the questionnaire and proof of eligibility MUST be provided with application by the closing date, 05/18/2026 Business Based Action, Military Spouse Preference, Outside Applicant Veteran, and Transition Hiring Preference In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Practical knowledge of swimming activities, rules and procedures and skill in the use and maintenance of various pool and safety equipment is desirable.

Must be able to obtain or possess certification in lifesaving and water rescue methods and skills, as well as basic first aid training, and CPR (both child and adult) training. Major Duties:

Observes swimming area to ensure safety of patrons. Ensures the swimming area is open to patrons at scheduled times and only authorized persons are admitted to the area.

Rescues swimmers in trouble, promptly administers first aid, and calls for medical assistance if and when needed.

Warns swimmers of unsafe environmental or health conditions, and recommends closing swimming areas until safe conditions prevail.

May perform other related or incidental duties as assigned for the daily operation of the swimming area to include: cleaning of bath houses, wading pools, main pools, and pool decks.
