Full Job Description

This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the JBSA Fort Sam Houston Fitness Center.

This is a Regular Part-Time position with guaranteed 20 hrs./wk., may work up to 40 hrs./wk. Scheduled as needed. This position is eligible for benefits. Must be able to lift objects weighing 50 lbs.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Work experience related to the duties described above. Must have customer service experience. Must possess minimum clerical, office type skills.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1.

Ability to carry out cash handling procedures. 2. Ability to professionally interact with patrons. 3. Be able to read, speak write and effectively communicate the English language with patrons.

Performs and/or assists in the operation and maintenance of indoor and outdoor fitness facilities.

Duties include but not limited to providing assistance and basic instruction to patrons in the proper use of exercise machines and equipment; setting up fitness areas for scheduled activities; serves in the capacity of front desk attendant and able to operate a Point of Sales (POS) system; enforces fitness center policies, makes reservations for court space, classes or use of equipment; follows proper procedures for issuing equipment and inspects and documents any damage when returned; maintains cleanliness of fitness facilities IAW facility cleaning checklists; performs opening and closing facility procedures IAW facility checklist and perform all other assigned duties.

Will report to Operations Manager, Fitness Coordinator and/or Fitness Center Director.
