Summary

This job involves supporting daily operations at the Eisenhower Golf Club on the U.S.

Air Force Academy grounds, including cleaning and maintaining golf carts, clubs, and storage areas, as well as picking up range balls and keeping the driving range ready for use.

It also includes helping with tournament setups and general upkeep around the clubhouse.

A good fit would be someone who enjoys outdoor work, has basic customer service experience, and doesn't mind physical tasks or irregular hours, especially if they're familiar with golf course activities.

About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Golf Course, Air Force Academy, CO. This position does not include benefits.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Knowledge of golf course operations, preferred as well as experience providing customer service. Must be able to read, write and speak English.

Requires lifting from 40 -80 pounds. May work an uncommon tour of duty such as days, nights, and weekends. Position is subject to furlough from 1 November to 31 March.

Must have the ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe manner. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Major Duties:

Checks on upcoming programs and tournaments at Eisenhower Golf Club daily. Performs and/or assists other recreation aids in the operation of Club Storage and as a golf car attendant.

Cleans and maintains club storage throughout the day. Cleans and services golf cars throughout the day. Cleans all members and guests clubs upon completion of their rounds.

Accounts for members clubs as well as the rental golf clubs. Each set of member's golf clubs will be cleaned upon return to Club Storage and the number of clubs returned will be verified.

Accounts for and secures all golf carts at the end of each business day. Routinely maintains the area around the Club House and parking lot, as well as emptying trash containers outside of Club House.

Operates motorized ball picker and retrieves range balls from the driving range. Hand picks range balls from trees, fairways and other areas throughout the day.

Restocks all sand and seed refill stations throughout the day. Fills all on course water coolers with cold drinking water as well as restocks the coolers cups throughout the day.

Sets up the driving range on a daily basis after receiving directions from the Lead Recreation Assistant. Insures proper movement of ropes on the driving range to maximize turf use.

Replaces all divots with sand and seed on the driving range at the end of each business day. Cleans and sorts all range balls daily, discarding worn, cut, or damaged balls.

Assists in setting up registration areas for golf tournaments as well as assisting the Food and Beverage Supervisor in arranging the Eisenhower Room for special functions and events.
