GS-09: To be eligible at the GS-09 level, you must meet at least ONE of the following conditions, as defined below: Specialized Experience, Education, OR a combination of Education and Experience.
Specialized Experience: At least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal Government that involve duties such as: implementing records management policies and procedures; recommending revisions of office procedures to improve file or records management; training others in the operation and use of tracking systems; and applying policies and procedures regarding various forms of records storage media; Education: A master's, or equivalent graduate degree in a related field (e.g., Public Administration, Archivist, Business Administration), or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.
Education was obtained in an accredited college or university and demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position.
Combining Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements.
To qualify based on a combination, graduate education must be in excess of two (2) full years.

If selected, you will serve as the Records and Information Management Specialist for the United States Attorney's Office (USAO) for the District of Minnesota, providing analytical and program management work to ensure all USAO records and information in all forms of media (e.g., paper, audio/visual, and digital) are created, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with federal and departmental guidelines.
Typical work assignments will include: Developing, managing, and evaluating the USAOs records management program.
Developing, implementing, and evaluating management control systems and procedures for handling, storing, or disposing of records.
Preparing records for transfer to the Federal Records Center (FRC), including adherence to quality control standards to distinguish agency records from non-record materials and ensuring use of shipping protocols established by regulation and procedure.
Providing analytical projects and assignments involving official USAO records. Designing and implementing file arrangement systems, filing procedures, and filing techniques of official records.
Approving or denying all departing (or former) employee requests for copies of federal records in accordance with department policy.
Updating local policy to comply with evolving record management guidelines and developing implementation procedures.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
