This job involves reviewing and ensuring the quality of documentation for shipbuilding projects at a naval shipyard, focusing on safety certifications for submarines and other vessels.

You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (SHIPBUILDING) in the Certification Branch (Code 133.2) in the Non-Nuclear Inspection Division (Code 133), Quality Assurance Department (Code 130) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS- 09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying principles, concepts and methods related to the Quality Assurance program utilizing shipyard digital resources such as ATMS, ATIS, and AIM programs.
Experience reviewing Quality Assurance forms with Certification Program Work, SUBSAFE/Hull Integrity, DSS/SOC, FBW-SCS, and Level 1 for accuracy, completeness, and compliance to the Technical Work Document, applicable UIPIs, drawings, and any other technical direction provided by EPD.
Experience identifying and tracking discrepancies noted during documentation QA reviews.
Experience resolving complex problems involving deviations from established procedures or unusual situations using knowledge of quality assurance methods.
Experience assisting On the Job Training of newly assigned QAS personnel.
