Base salary range: $62,107 - $80,737
Typical requirements: 1 year specialized experience at GS-10. Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 years graduate study.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves overseeing quality checks and calibrations for equipment in a naval shipyard's electrical shop, ensuring everything meets strict standards to prevent errors in ship repairs.
You'll investigate problems, create inspection plans, and suggest improvements to keep operations running smoothly.
It's a great fit for someone with hands-on experience in quality control and technical inspections, especially in a military or industrial setting.
You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (METROLOGY) in the Electrical Shop, Production Resources Department of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience with quality principles and practices, calibration methodology, inspection and quality control processes.
Experience with NAVSEA requirements and operating procedures related to metrology and calibration functions.
Experience interpreting calibration requirements, technical data, product specifications, drawings, policy statements and other guidelines in order to identify the characteristics to ensure quality.
Experience leading failure analysis investigations to determine the cause of quality problems and recommend preventive actions.
