Base salary range: $62,107 - $80,737
Typical requirements: 1 year specialized experience at GS-10. Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 years graduate study.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves checking and ensuring the quality of repairs and overhauls on naval ships at a shipyard in Maine, focusing on non-nuclear inspections to make sure everything meets safety and certification standards.
You'll review documents, train new staff, plan projects, and report on progress to keep things on track.
It's a good fit for someone with hands-on experience in quality control in manufacturing or shipbuilding who likes working in a structured team environment.
You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST in the NON-NUCLEAR INSPECTION DIVISION, QUALITY ASSURANCE OFFICE of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: *Experience identifying and tracking discrepancies noted during documentation review.
*Experience assisting in On the Job Training of Newly assigned QAS personnel of equal or lesser rate.
*Experience developing and implementing the quality processes necessary to review and certify work accomplished on ships undergoing repair, overhaul, and/or conversion.
*Experience preparing reports and providing status of certification progress to project management. *Experience project planning and establishing milestones to meet project Key Events.
