To qualify for a Quality Assurance Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position.

To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector.

Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement.

Creditablespecialized experience includes: Applying the full range of principles, concepts, and methodologies related to the quality assurance functional programs.

Establishing process measurement points and statistical techniques/methods to measure, analyze, and continuously improve processes.

Applying process-related practices, methods, and techniques such as statistical analysis; control and sampling; process proofing; and quality data analysis, in order to evaluate Government and contractor data and determine contractor compliance with the many aspects of quality control.

Performing investigations of defective material for cause and corrective action and initiate process improvements with the contractor as needed. Major Duties:

  • Ensures contractor compliance with all requirements related to the design, manufacturing, repair, overhaul, and modernization of a variety of items for contractor and customer activities throughout the world.
  • Applies a wide range of methods, principles, and practices directly related to quality control/quality assurance fields; statistical analysis, control and sampling, quality data analysis and evaluation to determine contractor compliance.
  • Incorporates a thorough and detailed QA knowledge in applying various methods and techniques for investigating, analyzing, and ensuring corrective action on complex quality problems.
  • Develops and implements a surveillance plan which begins with clear objectives supported by a master schedule that includes identification of contractor and sub-contractor production needs.
  • Performs audits/surveillance of contractor’s processes to ensure customer and contractual requirements are met.
