Full Job Description

You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST in the Engineering Department of COM SUBMARINE SQUADRON 17.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: interpreting policies, directives, or requirements (such as submarine operational and technical manual requirements, SUBSAFE certification requirements, Unrestricted Operation Requirements (URO), Material Controls Standards, Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information and JFMM requirements) to plan, develop and coordinate quality assurance program procedures; identifying operational and procedural deficiencies; and implementing corrective action to ensure submarine repair practices meet quality and certification requirements.

  • You will organize, implement, and oversee a Quality Assurance program to successfully carry out the provisions of the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM).
  • You will act as the primary POC for all matters concerning Nuclear and Non-Nuclear Quality Assurance, Unrestricted Operations, and SUBSAFE Programs on assigned submarines.
  • You will oversee all aspects of quality assurance training, performance, and qualification on assigned submarines.
