About the Position: Serves as a Public Safety Telecommunicator for dispatching Fire, Emergency Medical Service (EMS), and Law Enforcement (LE) responders, monitoring alarms and activating Mass Notification Systems in Army Garrison Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) / 911 Centers.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience in answering emergency 911 calls and conduct emergency and non-emergency call processing, dispatching appropriate equipment/vehicles required for different emergency situations, maintaining accurate log information and updating access rosters to ensure proper security and compliance of monitored facilities, using computerized graphical facility schematics to locate fire and security alarms, monitoring status and availability of police, fire, and EMS to assure an appropriate response is complete.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
