This job is for a psychiatrist working in a state mental health institute in Iowa, where you'll treat patients in inpatient units by providing therapy, managing medications, and leading a team of healthcare professionals to create care plans.

The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Division of State-Operated Specialty Care, Bureau of Independence Mental Health Institute (IMHI) is seeking a Psychiatrist to join our team! This is a full-time position with opportunity for growth and development.
Primary responsibilities of this Psychiatrist position include:
Provide preceptor work with medical students, psychiatry residents, and psychiatry fellows who train at IMHI through the State’s public-sector psychiatry residency/fellowship program delivered with the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
This includes collaboration with UIHC and HHS Central Office to expand and refine education and training opportunities to develop the pipeline of public-sector psychiatrists in Iowa.
Applicants will be required to complete a background check to be considered for this position.
IMHI provides inpatient treatment and acute psychiatric services, including individualized treatment plans and support for children and adolescent patients to continue their education.
Individuals are encouraged to collaborate with staff members in formulating their own plan. Medication, group counseling, and activities therapies might be included as well.
