Full Job Description

The Department of Community and Human Services values diverse perspectives and life experiences.

The Department encourages people of all backgrounds to apply, including Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, immigrants, refugees, women, LGBTQ, people with disabilities, veterans, and those with lived experiences.

King County's Department of Community and Human Services (DCHS) provides equitable opportunities for people to be healthy, happy, and connected to community.

Within DCHS, the Developmental Disabilities and Early Childhood Supports Division (DDECSD) is responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, and maintaining services to meet the needs of children from prenatal to five, their families, and caregivers; people with developmental disabilities and delays and their families, and community-based organizations.

Our division is seeking team members who are committed to promoting racial, social, and economic equity for all people in King County.

The Provider Support Specialist will serve on DDECS’s Provider Supports Team, which is responsible for the equitable development, procurement, negotiation, and monitoring of contracts with community-based organizations serving individuals and families in King County.

The Provider Supports team works collaboratively with program managers to ensure that all DDECS providers can access available resources to successfully contract with King County and effectively serve the community.

Additionally, this position will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the terms and conditions of the Division’s revenue contracts, reporting on contract deliverables to funders, and acting as the Privacy Officer for the Division’s HIPAA-related privacy needs.

We will be hiring two Provider Support Specialists, each serving as a lead for different areas of our division’s work.

One position will focus on Early Childhood programs, serving as the lead for contracts connected to our ESIT, Early Childhood, and Best Starts for Kids portfolios.

The second position will focus on Adult Services and Community Information, Outreach, and Referral (CIOR), serving as the lead for contracts supporting Adult Employment, Community Inclusion, School-to-Work, and CIOR programs.

Both positions will cross-train and collaborate closely, providing support across other DDECSD contracts as needed.

As always, our values call us to approach this work in relational, transparent, and equitable ways that align with our shared vision of supporting King County residents of all ages and cultures with intellectual and developmental disabilities to experience full, active, integrated, and meaningful participation in community life.

These positions will primarily lead the Division’s Level Up efforts and Contract Compliance and Monitoring for their respective areas, coordinate with state funding partners, and implement workplans and policies.

The selected applicants will join one other Provider Supports Team member in managing the overall portfolio of DDECSD contracts and will support each other’s contracts depending on capacity and need.

These positions will work together to align and document practices and procedures, and with the Provider Supports Capacity Building Manager to identify DDECS providers who may benefit from capacity building supports.

Our Division is seeking team members who are committed to promoting racial, social, and disability justice, and economic equity for all people in King County.

The Provider Support Specialist will use a disability, equity and social justice approach.

The Provider Support Specialists will report to the Provider Support Team Lead within DDECSD.
