Full Job Description

You will serve as a PROTOCOL OFFICER in the OFFICE OF THE COMMANDING GENERAL (CG) of II MARINE EXPEDITIONARY FORCE.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Managing the planning, coordination, and execution of all protocol aspects for visits of distinguished individuals; AND organizing social and protocol arrangements for official presentations and events including honors, awards, promotions, retirements, and/or assumption of command ceremonies.

  • You will develop, update, and implement a protocol program that effectively supports the command.
  • You will review protocol initiatives for responsiveness to command requirements and assure continued responsiveness to changing conditions by furnishing appropriate guidance to staff and subordinate elements.
  • You will formulate policies, plans and program objectives that support the goals of the command’s protocol program.
  • You will provide expert technical guidance to the command on budgeting and obligation of Official Representational Funds (ORF).
  • You will prepare, submit, and receive billings and conduct necessary reviews and audits to ensure compliance with applicable guidance and regulations.
  • You will develop long-range work plans and schedules; assure implementation of goals and objectives for the program segments or functions managed and set priorities.
  • You will maintain continuity for all events and visitors as well as developing standards for conducting events and managing visitors.
