Job Description

Summary

This job involves planning and coordinating official visits, events, and protocols for high-ranking military and civilian leaders at a U.S. Marine Corps base in North Carolina.

You'll handle everything from travel arrangements and budgets to advising on proper procedures and creating policies for smooth operations.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a PROTOCOL OFFICER for the Commanding Officer of MCAS CHERRY POINT.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying protocol principles to plan and coordinate visits and official events for military and civilian dignitaries, which includes providing administrative support to senior leadership such as arranging travel, managing correspondence, and assisting with budget administration for official functions.

  • You will respond to requests for advice and assistance in all matters relative to proper protocol procedures.
  • You will assist in the coordination of events with the action officers of various civilian organizations and military services.
  • You will formulate and recommend policies and procedures governing the protocol functions for approval.
  • You will direct and facilitate arrangements for visitors to achieve the best ship, shore or area site visit by planning, coordinating and executing a myriad of activities to meet visit requirements.
  • You will develop and modify protocol policy, disseminate guidance and develop information for briefings and presentations on command issues, programs and events.
