Base salary range: $62,107 - $80,737

Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).

This position is located with Bonneville Power Administration, in Logistics Management (NSL), Supply Chain Services (NS), Chief Administrative Office (N) A successful candidate in the Property Disposal Specialist (Hazardous Waste Management) position will be responsible for disposal, hazardous material transportation and environmental matters associated with the central transfer, storage, and disposal facilities.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level, GS-11, in the Federal service.
Specialized experience for this position is defined as: 1) performing reutilization, transfer, donation, or sales of hazardous and/or toxic waste products; 2) performing property disposal management, control, and advisory activities; and 3) researching or recommending solutions to problems and implementing new hazardous and/or toxic waste disposal techniques.
"Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience.
Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations.
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

To receive selection priority for this position, you must: 1) meet the eligibility criteria; and 2) be rated "well-qualified", which is defined as having a score of 85 or better.

As a Property Disposal Specialist (Hazardous Waste Management), you will: Manage disposal processes, including the toxic and hazardous waste disposal processes at agency hazmat disposal facilities.
Consult with pollution prevention and abatement staff on policy changes to prioritize operational needs Serve as contracting officer's technical representative (COTR) for the agency's centrally coordinated disposal contracts.
Identify skill level requirement for disposal team members, coordinate and conduct informal and formal training.
Serve as lead on the group monitoring agency wide transportation of hazardous waste via agency vehicles or commercial carriers.
Determine best value to the agency of disposal of nonhazardous materials, including equipment donations, auctions and negotiated sales, or contracts for disposal services.
