Job Description

Summary

This job involves handling property acquisitions and relocations for transportation projects across Michigan's Metro Region, following state and federal rules, while entering data into specialized systems and attending public meetings.

It suits someone with a bachelor's degree and experience in real estate who enjoys fieldwork, meeting property owners, and working in a government setting.

Entry-level candidates can start at grade 9, with opportunities to advance based on experience up to grade 12.

Full Job Description

The Mackinac Bridge on a sunny day with blue skies and trees in the forefront with the MDOT logo and the MDOT webpage address.

This position performs acquisition and relocation activities in accordance with state and federal regulations on a region-wide basis.

This position inputs data into the department's Land Asset Management Data Application (LAMDA) and ProjectWise for each property function completed and participates in public meetings.

This position requires possession of a valid driver’s license to meet with property owners and perform field inspections.

The "Salary" listed above is a range that reflects the minimum rate at the entry (9) level through the maximum rate at the advanced (12) level. Based on education and experience, candidates will be reviewed to determine what level they are qualified for.

Requirements

Education

Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.

Experience

Property Analyst 9

No specific type or amount is required.

Property Analyst 10 

 One year of professional experience in real estate equivalent to a Property Analyst 9.

Property Analyst P11

Two years of professional experience in real estate equivalent to a Property Analyst, including one year equivalent to a Property Analyst 10.

Property Analyst 12

Three years of professional experience in real estate equivalent to a Property Analyst, including one year equivalent to a Property Analyst P11.

Qualifications

Property Analyst 9 - 12

Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full-time active-duty experience at or above the E-6 level in the uniformed services may be substituted for the education requirement.

Additional Information

  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • For the Property Analyst 12: Possess a Michigan Real Estate Broker Individual License.
