Recruitment Number 25-0416 - The current vacancy is with the Department of Transportation, Harbor Division located in Downtown.

Salary - $6,043 to $7,351 per month (SR-24, Step D to I)

Requirements


Positions in this class of work perform professional work in planning, organizing, managing, implementing and evaluating projects according to project management principles and methods. Projects managed by positions in this class are complex and require one to navigate through various issues and project constraints by applying general policies and guidelines. Projects are of a lesser scope and complexity in comparison to those managed by a Project Manager II.

The work of this class involves defining project goals to determine required project outcomes; analyzing and creating detailed project plans that identify deliverables, timelines, costs, resources and potential risk; regularly communicating with project staff, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders on project activities; monitoring project progress to ensure milestones are met on time; developing and implementing mechanisms to evaluate project successes and areas in need of improvement on an on-going basis; and recommending and facilitating changes to project processes to ensure desired outcomes and deliverables..

Qualifications

To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:

LEGAL AUTHORIZATION TO WORK:

The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.


Basic Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

Specialized Experience: Three and one-half (3-1/2) years of progressively responsible professional experience planning, directing, managing, monitoring, and evaluating projects. Such experience must include determining project goals, scope, deliverables, timelines, costs, and resources; leading project teams; administering budgets and contracts; tracking project progress to ensure that milestones are met on time and within budget; documenting project progress; and identifying metrics for project evaluation.

Driver's License: Applicants must possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.

Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) Clearance - Federal Criminal History Records Check: In accordance with Federal regulations, persons who are being considered for employment in positions which require unescorted access to secured areas at the harbor must undergo a pre-employment fingerprint-based criminal history record check. In order to be granted the TWIC clearance, prospective employees must not have been convicted, or found "not guilty by reason of insanity," of a disqualifying criminal offense within seven years from the date of appointment. Upon recommendation for hire, prospective employees will be required to successfully undergo the fingerprint-based criminal history record check and be found free of disqualifying convictions during the preceding seven years. The cost for the records check will be the applicant's responsibility. However, upon hire, the employee will be reimbursed provided he/she submits the TWIC receipt to his/her supervisor.
