As a Project Manager, you will plan, direct, and manage the execution of priority Agency projects or initiatives and develop realistic plans for these projects to ensure the timely and efficient utilization of the correct resources.

The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 03/13/2026.

Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service.

Coordinating projects and facilitating specific undertakings that span operational lines and reach desired objectives.

Project management and administration experience with projects and studies that are national in scope and have cross-programmatic and interagency impact.

Presenting and defining the results of highly complex policy and operational analysis to counterparts and high-level officials in internal and external Federal agencies.

  • Organizational Location: This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, within OFC Policy and Strategy, Regulatory Coordination Division and are assigned based on the need of the agency.
  • The responsibilities described are for the full performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope performed with less independence, and limited complexity.
  • Support, strengthen, and improve the delivery of the successful standardization and implementation of major agency-wide projects and initiatives.
  • Plan, direct, and manage the execution of projects and initiatives on behalf of the division and office Chief; coordinate with various DHS components, other Federal agencies, State and local government(s) or private organizations.
  • Recommend and implement new strategies, new processes, and procedures developed from team studies and projects; select, tailor, and apply innovative project management techniques to minimize project slippage and deficiencies.
  • Monitor the progress of project team members, contractors, or consultants; ensure preparation of strategy and supporting plans; review analyses to examine project advantages in adjusting approved cost, schedule, and performance parameters.
  • Identify project problems and the impact of directed changes relating to funding, performance, schedule, management, etc. and ensure they are communicated to the appropriate decision authority in a timely manner.
