Full Job Description

Join the Department of Public Works, Engineering Division, as a key contributor to one of the County’s most impactful programs.

This position serves as the primary point of contact for the Road Impact Fee Program, supporting residents, developers, and internal partners by assessing fees, answering inquiries, and ensuring the program is consistently applied.

You’ll take the lead in maintaining program forms and processes, coordinating credit agreements and resolutions, updating program materials, and keeping the program’s web content current and accurate.

You will participate in the updates of the Major Transportation Corridors Plan, the Fee Program Study, and other program documents.

This role plays a central part in supporting the Road Impact Fee Advisory Committee by preparing meeting materials, facilitating meetings, and capturing meeting notes that help guide future program improvements.

This position blends customer service, technical coordination, scheduling, and administrative support.

You’ll be responsible for reviewing plans, managing procurement needs, tracking equipment and materials, analyzing data, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with schedules.

You will also support day-to-day Division operations and help maintain organized records and documentation.

Additionally, you will plan and coordinate project workflow, track milestones, handle accounting and recordkeeping, and keep Leadership informed of program and project progress.

The primary work location for this position is at the Regional Development Center, 2880 International Circle


Hiring Range: $64,500.00 - $70,500.00 annually

This position has an anticipated work schedule of Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm; subject to change.
Due to the nature of the role and its operational responsibilities, this position is not eligible for a hybrid or remote work schedule, as it requires full-time, on-site presence.

This position is responsible for providing project management and administrative support that align with strategic initiatives and plans. Monitors progress of projects, including suggestions for improvements and facilitation of meeting timelines. Assists with the initiation of the development and coordination of projects, timelines, and presentations. Responsible for the development of presentations, publications, reports, executive summaries, and other written materials. Analyzes, summarizes, and/or reviews data; interprets results and provides strategic input and recommendations. Performs a variety of administrative duties, including coordination of executive schedules, answering correspondence, and facilitating the delivery of confidential and sensitive information. Employment is subject to the terms, conditions, and policies detailed in the Personnel Policies Manual (PPM). This position requires regular in-person presence as an essential job function. This position may be subject to grant funding.

Requirements

  • Monitors and assists leadership with the management of projects that align with strategic initiatives and plans, which may include collaboration among many programs/areas to develop, plan, and present/disseminate information among internal and external partners.
  • Gathers project information such as schedules, assignments, tasks, and project meeting calendars. Works with project team members in developing comprehensive workflow processes, tasks, and project assignments; disseminates information to project team members and stakeholders.
  • In coordination with leadership, oversees project schedules, establishes timelines, and identifies necessary resources. Continuously monitors project progress and conducts project monitoring meetings; builds consensus and delegates ownership of individual tasks.
  • Organizes the activities of project team members to ensure accurate and efficient project delivery, reduce redundancy, and facilitate communication between project stakeholders.
  • Communicates project progress, status, and risks to leadership and stakeholders. Assists leadership in coordinating strategic planning meetings; follows up with meeting notes and action items.
  • Helps to ensure project goals are identified and met under applicable regulations and guidelines.
  • Develops and implements evaluation tools and/or a metrics component to measure project success and completion timeline.
  • Assists in researching, collecting, and managing a wide variety of data. Analyzes, summarizes, and/or reviews data; interprets results and provides strategic input and recommendations to leadership. Assists with preparing cost proposals for current or future projects.
  • Responsible for preparing presentations and developing reports, publications, executive summaries, and/or other written materials.
  • Composes, modifies, and/or edits documents and publications; ensures clarity, completeness, accuracy, quality, and adherence to agency writing and branding standards.
  • Performs various administrative duties.
  • Coordinates and plans various events.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Supervision Exercised: This classification does not have supervisory authority and requires no supervision or direction of others.

Supervision Received: Receives intermittent supervision. This classification normally performs the job by following established standard operating procedures and/or policies. Regular direction, guidance, and coaching from supervisor is expected. There is a choice of the appropriate procedure or policy to apply to duties. Performance reviewed periodically.

Required Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent education. 
  • Three years of strategic planning, budget, grant, project management, or program management experience.
    • Associate’s degree in a related field may substitute for one year of the required experience. 
    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field may substitute for two years of the required experience. 
Preferred Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in public administration, project management, business administration, finance, or related field. 
  • Five years of strategic planning, budget, grant, or project management experience.
Licenses/Certificates
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
Pre-Employment Requirements
  • Must pass conditional post offer background investigation, motor vehicle record check, and drug screen.

Additional Information

Duties are primarily performed in an office and remote work environment dependent upon Department discretion and business needs; some travel may be required.
