Program Support Specialist - Children's Justice Centers
The Attorney General's Office has an immediate vacancy for a Program Support Specialist to provide professional support related to the operational needs of the Utah Children's Justice Center (CJC) Program.
Incumbent in this position is responsible for providing technical support to Children's Justice Centers as well as coordinating training on program related topics. This professional does not serve as a trainer, but is responsible for coordinating training logistics, including venues, trainers/presenters (as appropriate), registration, and materials preparation. The successful applicant will have strong administrative, organizational, interpersonal, and project management skills. In addition, preference will be given to applicants with experience with coordinating training and/or events, and technical support/assistance.
Subject matter expertise related to the CJC program is not required, however, familiarity with the Children’s Justice Center model and knowledge of the dynamics of child abuse and issues related to assisting victims is helpful.
Requirements
- Assist with development and dissemination of resources and technical assistance materials to centers and partner agencies.
- Assist with the preparation of training materials and collateral materials for CJCs, including handouts, registration materials, participant lists, etc.
- Coordinate and facilitate training, including the annual Symposium, forensic interview training, mental health training, peer forums, and other training.
- Coordinate with training venues, including obtaining quotes, negotiating and reviewing contracts, and ensuring compliance with contract terms.
- Prepare and manage budget for training events; assist with the preparation and processing of related invoices.
- Explore and implement solutions to improve training processes, such as application, registration, and continuing education.
- Assist with coordination of projects to support the implementation and maintenance of CJC services.
- Perform administrative duties to support Program mission, objectives, and/or initiatives.
- Perform other responsibilities as appropriate and necessary.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Skill in working with a diversity of people and professions.
- Experience with MS Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
- Experience with virtual meeting platforms, such as Teams and Zoom.
- Ability to travel as needed.
Preferred Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
- Experience in coordinating training and/or events.
- General knowledge of and familiarity with the children’s justice center model.
- Knowledge of the dynamics of child abuse.
- Knowledge of issues related to crime victim support.
- Experience with design software/apps (eg, Canva)
