The incumbent serves as administrative support in coordinating the operation of the Mental Health Care Line (MHCL) Psychology Internship Training Program, Psychology Service Postdoctoral Program, Social Work Services, and other MHCL allied health training programs.
The purpose of this position is primarily to perform program analytical work in addition to routine and non-routine procedural or standard assignments that support office administration.
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 04/21/2026.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service.
An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials.
If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement.
In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.

You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
experience where you were responsible for providing administrative support functions within a healthcare facility; performing automation duties using software applications such as word processing, spreadsheet, electronic mail, desktop publishing, calendar, database and/or graphics; maintenance of a complete and proper filing and record keeping system; ability to research reference materials, regulations, and standards to identify appropriate action necessary to correct problems or issues, maintain electronic forms and timecards; and knowledge of computer software (MS Word, Excel, etc).

Major Duties:
Major duties include, but are not limited to: Collaborates in a team-oriented, customer-driven, professional environment to develop new models of care that emphasize prevention, improve access and coordination of care.
Demonstrates flexibility, integrity and accountability with work ethic that emphasizes excellence and quality.
Independently handles all administrative duties surrounding our American Psychological Association (APA) Approved Psychology training programs.
Answering telephone inquiries, reviewing applications for completeness and accuracy, scheduling and coordinating interviews. Responsible for tracking clinical training evaluation forms for interns.
Coordinating program activities for the APA-approved, VA-sponsored post-doctoral training program, post-doctoral Training Directors, and fellows to ensure complete documentation.
Responsible for independently collecting, analyzing, and comprehensively summarizing evaluations of fellows and training faculty. Prepares paperwork necessary for hiring new and temporary employees.
Responsible for processing and tracking all WOC employees for the MHCL. Serves as one of the timekeepers for the MHCL and acting as alternate timekeeper at any given time.
Serves as a Purchase Card Holder; maintaining fund control points including ordering , monitoring, receiving, tracking and delivering supplies to Service staff. Performs other duties as assigned.
