Base salary range: $37,764 - $49,094

Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves providing everyday administrative help for programs that support elderly veterans in home and community care settings, such as managing records, preparing reports, scheduling meetings, and handling data entry.

Provides administrative and program support to Home and Community Based Care programs by maintaining records, tracking patient and provider data, preparing reports, coordinating meetings and travel, supporting billing and budget activities, ensuring timely data entry and reporting, serving as a point of contact for staff and community providers, and using office automation tools to support daily operations and compliance requirements.

Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service.
An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials.
If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement.
In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.

You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: providing clerical and administrative support for program operations; maintaining and updating records, files, and databases; entering, tracking, and verifying data for accuracy; preparing routine reports and correspondence; coordinating administrative processes; and using office automation tools such as Microsoft Word and Excel to support daily program and management requirements..

Major Duties:
Prepare complete inspection packets and post documents, visit schedules, program memorandums.
Prepares graphs, spreadsheets, program authorizations, letters, emails, report of contact using proper oral and written communication.
Inputs requests for work orders, supplies, telephones, and other similar items as requested by program staff. Serves as a timekeeper for Home and Community Based Care program.
Ensure timecards are accurately recorded before submitting for approval by the managers or Service Chief. Monitors correspondence to ensure proper format.
Inputs data using Word, Excel, Power Point, VISTA, and CPRS using proper format. Serves as the primary preparer to enter data and reporting requirements in web-based software.
Will communicate clear and accurate information using written and verbal techniques and professional and courteous attitude.
Plans, reserves room and prepares and coordinates information for meetings for program staff. Takes, transcribes, and distributes minutes to committee and meeting members for assigned specialties.
Will monitor telephone calls, forward as appropriate, take messages, and answer basic program questions. Will prepare reports timely and accurately.
Will use medical terminology to communicate and provide assistance to staff in the program. Will identify and address conflicting demands, work independently at times, and problem-solving skills.
Will collaborate with other services to ensure interdisciplinary collaboration of clinical programs.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm Telework: This position may be authorized for ad-hoc only telework, as determined by the agency policy.
