Full Job Description

The position is located in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans health Administration (VHA), at the George E. Wahlen VA Medical Center within Nursing Education.

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 03/27/2026.

Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

For a GS-7 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-6. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service.

An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials.

If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement.

In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.

Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.

You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-6 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.

Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Managing and maintaining electronic files and program data regarding Service Standard Operating Procedures.

Providing administrative support to Program Directors/Managers to administer Simulations Training, Simulation training equipment inventory/maintenance.

Providing support for data collection and data entry.

Providing technical and administrative guidance necessary to achieve efficient service operations within the VA medical facility and maintain stakeholder satisfaction.

Resolve assignments, training and other administrative issues with the affiliates. Utilize critical thinking skills to solve problems related to affiliate issues.

Major Duties:

Duties include but are not limited to the following: Assists with the onboarding administrative tasks and processes required for oversight to include the coordinating and the gathering of onboarding documents for paid and WOC HPTs, Education Department Supervisory support, as well as outside academic affiliates, and HPTs within the service.

The Incumbent ensure all documentation is filled out correctly and accurately by employees.

Manages and maintains electronic files and program data regarding Service Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and WOC. Placement in SharePoint and on shared drives.

Provides support for data collection, data entry, and data analysis work.

Functions as support staff for Employees responsible for special projects and scheduling classroom experiences, simulation training, interview, etc by performing a variety of administrative and clerical duties such as collection and compilation of information involving administrative or support issues.

Maintain appropriate calendars for these events. Gather and input required information and forms for affiliated nursing institutions.

The Incumbent provides support for data collection and data entry for the instructors/participants, trainees, employees, multiple community academic affiliates, faulty, and nursing leadership at all levels within the medical center and the affiliated nursing and allied health institutions involved.

Functions as support staff for Employees responsible for maintaining records of current and expiring academic affiliation agreements.

For expiring agreements, initiates renewal and assures completion of updated contracts.

Maintain audiovisual equipment and troubleshoot problems to support successful presentations for program training needs.

Serve as the backup timekeeper for employees, including residents and trainees and assist with WOC timecards.

(Please elaborate further) Assist with coordinating office supply orders to support program needs. Other duties as assigned.
