This position is located in the Community Care Service at VA Orlando Healthcare System - Orlando VA Medical Center in Orlando, FL.
The Community Care Service (CCS) coordinates skilled care to Veterans purchased from outside community vendors.
The program works collaboratively with local VA Medial Center providers, providers at other VA Medical Centers, and with local community vendors including home care, hospice agencies, local hospitals, long term care facilities, etc.
Minimum Requirement: The following are minimum requirements for appointment as a Program Support Assistant in the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), which all applicants must met.
Specialized Experience (GS-06): You must have one (1) year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled.
To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (i.e., GS-05).
Qualifying examples of specialized experience would typically include but are not limited to: answering phones and routing calls and messages, interacting with internal and external customers, processing requests and typing routine correspondence, and maintaining basic records and files.

***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION*** Major duties and responsibilities include but not limited to: Providing program support assistance to the Community Care Service's community health nurse coordinators Maintaining program supplies and equipment, including independently identifying the needs and making acquisitions and places appropriate orders and tracking requests through delivery Receiving, tracking, and appropriately forwarding or processing incoming outside medical records, treatment plans, and outside provider orders Establishing a monitoring system for tracking, admission, discharges, authorizations and extension, and non-VA services purchased through the Community Health Program Collecting, compiling, and tracking statistical information to support the program operations, including productivity reports, workload reports, patient tracking reports, and purchasing reports Serving as liaison with transportation in the requesting and obtaining vehicles for field visits Obtaining and monitoring the use of services, supplies, and equipment Preparing resource status reports for the Community Care Service and other supervisory personnel within the service Procuring, authorizing, controlling and justifying a variety of general support services such as office supply stock levels and office equipment Reasonable for the telephone and written correspondence with providers, outside vendors, and local community hospital and agencies Responsible for receipt and distribution of all mail and correspondence for the CCS, ensuring items requiring follow-up or actions are appropriately suspense and presented for completion Performing a variety of administrative duties including copying, faxing, filing, and other tasks associated with maintaining and supporting the work performed within the Community Care Service Performing other associated duties as assigned Work Schedule: Monday to Friday; 08:00 a.m.
